The ZX 7055 VARIO DRO drilling–milling machine from CORMAK is a powerful universal milling machine for drilling, milling and tapping steel and cast iron. Its heavy-duty cast construction, continuously variable spindle speed in two ranges and digital position readout ensure consistent accuracy in one-off and small-batch production.

Construction & Technology

The machine is built around a heavy cast iron structure with wide slideways, minimising deflection during face milling and end milling operations. The heavy-duty cross table features a large working surface with a precision-ground surface, ensuring a flat reference surface for workpiece positioning. The spindle, featuring an MK4 taper, is powered by an S1/S6 1.5/1.8kW motor with continuously variable speed control. The integrated cooling system stabilises the temperature in the cutting zone and improves surface finish quality.

Machining Precision Efficiency

The combination of a 2-axis DRO, precision-ground transmission gears and robust slideways ensures high dimensional repeatability and a smooth surface finish. The automatic spindle feed and two spindle speed ranges allow stable cutting parameters to be selected for drilling steel up to Ø32mm and cast iron up to Ø45mm, as well as face milling up to Ø80mm and end milling up to Ø28mm. Ergonomic head height adjustment reduces changeover times in both high-volume and one-off production.
